Traditional Naturopath is one of the earliest known healing systems. Hippocrates was probably one of the most well known of the naturopathic scientists.
“Throughout his professional life he exhibited the greatest respect and reverence for Nature, and taught his followers, students, and initiates that the healing of all diseases was ‘up to’ Nature…He stated that only nature could cure, and that the province of the Physician was merely to assist, to make the healing more pleasant or less painful”. (Thiel, 2000).
Traditional Naturopaths take the knowledge of how the body functions and applies the use of the basic foundations of health, with the wisdom and experience of the uses of herbs and natural methods based on each individual needs.
Iridology is the study of the Iris where we identify the color, pigmentations and the structure. We can also use the markings in the sclera and the pupil to identify potential genetic and current issues.
All that we are able to see within the iris and sclera enable us to determine constitutional strengths and potential weakness of the physical body as well as certain aspects of the personality of the individual. These markings are a reflection of the genetic inheritance from 3 to 4 generations that came before you.
Based on your genetic constitution, structure and color of the iris, we are able to recommend lifestyle and preventative therapies and what food choices would benefit you the most.
Integrated Iridology is a blend of American, European and Australian models of Iridology. Toni Miller who trained with many of the well-known pioneers of Iridology has spent well over 30 years combining her training with clinical experience to “challenge difficult concepts, refine, test, and where necessary, revise understanding in line with clinical evidence.”
I love what Toni Miller wrote in her book, “Integrated Iridology textbook”, “Prevention is the supreme goal. Integrated Iridology assessment is an effective screening tool that enables us to identify each person’s specific nurture points. This enables them to accept the responsibility of taking care of themselves.”
History of Iridology:
The study of the iris has been found as far back as 6000 years in ancient China as well as ancient Greece by probably one of the most well known of the naturopathic scientist, Hippocrates. But it was Dr. Ignatz von Peczely of Budapest, Hungary that was given the recognition as the founder of Iridology. In 1861, Iridology was born when Dr. Peczely began using the diagnosis from the eye to help him find the ailments of his patients. Since then, there have been many from Sweden, Germany, Russia, Ukraine, Australia, and the United States, who have discovered more and more about Iridology and have fought hard against criticism all the while proving to themselves and those who came to them that the positive results were undeniable.
Iridology came to the United States from an Austrian, Henry Edward Lahn, MD. around the 1900’s and was continued by his student Henry Lindlahr, M.D., D.O.
After studying Iridology for several years with Dr. Lindlahr, as well as Dr. R.M. McLain at the International School of Professional Arts and Sciences in San Francisco, CA, Dr. Bernard Jensen, who has been called the Father of Iridology for the United States, delivered his first seminar in Iridology and nutrition at the Naturopathic Association Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1931. From there, he continued sharing his knowledge and pouring his life’s work into growing the science of Iridology.
In 1982, Harri Wolf and Bill Caradonna founded an organization called the National Iridology Research Association, NIRA. When Dr. Jensen’s daughter-in-law, Ellen Tart-Jensen became the President of NIRA, she changed the name to International Iridology Practitioners Association, IIPA, to bridge American and European Iridology and to form a “unified iridology language”.
IIPA has helped student’s, clients and practitioners to be well-trained, well informed and to continue the growth and research Iridologist’s need to ensure we maintain the highest standards of Iridology.
I love this quote from the great Paracelsus in the 16th century, “Consider the eye, with which art was created and how the body impressed his exact anatomy on it.”
Note:
This is an immensely condensed summary of the history of Iridology from Ellen Tart-Jensen’s book Techniques in Iris Analysis.
Biomagnetism is defined as a “highly effective natural therapy against a large number of illnesses through the use of pairs of magnets of medium intensity that seek to equalize the organism’s pH level.”
Benefits of magnets like magnetic therapy and magnetic acupuncture, have been helpful for many using a low-level magnet. The way Biomagnetism differs is that is uses pairs of a higher level magnets, both positive and negative to balance the pH in specific areas in the body that have been effected by pathogens or other factors that resonate energetically and vibrationally.
As a gentle and harmless therapy, it is capable of revealing and balancing an issue before symptoms may appear. Therefore, we can use this method as a preventative therapy as well.
Disclaimer:
We are not medical practitioners. Our testing methods and approaches do not and will not compare apple to apple to medical testing methods or approaches. We view the health of the body, mind, and spirit in an entirely different way.
We can be a complimentary support to your medical healthcare. As well as a wonderful support for preventative care.
We will not and can not discuss your pharmaceutical needs or care. If you are seeking to make changes with your pharmaceutical medicines, please call your medical doctor or pharmacist.
My mission and passion is to teach my clients how their body works and to empower them with knowledge and understanding of their genetic strengths and weaknesses so they are able to use that information to prevent issues in the future or to help overcome current situations. Living in our fullness comes from mindful everyday choices we make on what we eat, drink, read, listen, watch, and how we react.
“Life is 10% of what happens and 90% of how we react to it.” Toni Miller, The Mind Matters.

A Traditional Naturopath, an Iridologist, and a certified Biomagnetic Therapist.
I believe our bodies have an incredible ability to heal when given the right tools with the right understanding. But that healing will come differently for everyone. True and absolute healing comes from our Creator. Have faith, feed our mind, bodies and spirit well and most importantly, rest well in Him.
